Essens Cashback was abolished on 1 March 2025. Instead of cashback the discount was increased to 33.5% on almost everything. Meaning that now earnings/savings can be made on the purchase of just one product.
Existing cashback for members who had already earned cashback before it was abolished will be available to be spent until further notice. Notice will be given before this happens.

Essens cash back was originally introduced to encourage loyalty and it replaced the previous scheme which was a two-tier discount. The higher discount of the two tier scheme required the member to order 50 points worth of products and then the loyalty discount of 33.5% would apply in the following month.
Cashback replaced this scheme as it was recognised that it was unfair to people who ordered a lot in their first month, as they couldn't benefit from the higher discount until the following month. Therefore, the cashback scheme was introduced as it was seen to be fairer, because the additional discount was paid as cashback and although it was paid in the following month, it was earned in the month of purchase.
However, this did mean there was a delay in receiving the additional earnings, as cashback wasn't available to be spent until the following month, and it could only be spent on products.
Unfortunately, the "fairer" cash back scheme proved to be hugely unpopular with distributors as they had to spend it on more products. Most distributors need the money to meet their monthly expenditure on bills. In some circumstances this led to hardship leaving distributors with little option but to look elsewhere for additional earnings.
Upon realising this Essens decided to abolish cashback scheme and revert back to giving the full discount up front to every member, and on every product.
For now the cashback will stay in the members back office e-wallet until further notice.
It can still only be spent on products, up to 60% of the value of the order, and we would urge you to use it as soon as possible. If Essens decide to remove that facility, even with notice, anyone with a large amount of cashback may struggle to spend it on one order.
It's imperitive that it is spent within 12 months from the last order, as the membership will expire after 12 months of inactivity. If the membership were to expire without the cashback being spent, it would be forfeited.
It's not really new. Essens has reverted to the scheme that was in place when Essens first opened in the UK. It's really simple. 33.5% member discount on everything except samples and stationery to all members who are currently registered with Essens, regardless of whether they ahve joined to earn an extra income or simply to purchase the products with discount.
There is more information on the "buy essens" page which delves into all the benefits of joining Essens to buy the products with a discount.
